Personal Development Reflections:
Today I continued reading about myself (and my partner, Travis) in Personality Plus by Florence Littauer. This book was assigned in a mentoring group by my coach, Lindsay Matway. It is so interesting to read all of the different personality types... there truly have been times when I thought to myself "how could she possibly write a book about me without having met me?!" LOL! It is really that spot on! Yesterday I discovered that I am a Dominant Peaceful Phlegmatic, Strong Popular Sanguine... while Travis is a Dominant Perfect Melancholy, Strong Peaceful Phlegmatic. I ADORE this book... it is so hard to put down! More to come on this one :) .
{FoOd fOR ThOuGHt*}... My "why" of the Day:
Relieving stress.
It is coming down to the last couple weeks of the toughest semester of school so far and I have been a huge bundle of nerves. As I sit here, sweaty, tired, but accomplished, I remember that exercise has more to give me than just a hot set of abs. It forces me to live in the moment... be one with my body (instead of trapped inside my mind) and physically push out all of the stress, negativity, and worry from the day.... almost like a shower for my soul, cleaning away the dingy debris from my daily grind. And finally, for the first time in a few weeks, I feel... at peace (even if it took a brutal booty kicking to get here).
Closing Quote to InSPiRe.....*
"Being in control of your life and having realistic expectations about your day-to-day challenges are the keys to stress management, which is perhaps the most important ingredient to living a happy, healthy and rewarding life." ~ Marilu Henner
